Thomas Hardy cottage Ash

This is a handmade Fountain pen, Rollerball pen and pencil in Ash wood from a tree that grew in the grounds of Thomas Hardy's cottage.

This handmade set are made from spalted Ash wood with Titanium gold coloured fittings with a brushed gold centre band. It is has a traditional wax finish giving it a wonderful warm feeling allowing the wood to shine through. The set is presented in the custom cut card display box as shown.
The fountain pen is supplied with a medium Bock gold plated nib as standard. It makes use of standard international ink cartridges. Also supplied is a Schmidt ink convertor to allow the use of bottled inks. Included is a pack of Ancient Copper ink cartridges.

The pencil makes use of standard 0.7mm leads and the rollerball standard rollerball refills.

All pens are handmade by me beginning with rough cut woods for the body. The body of the pen is turned on a lathe to the final shape as seen on each pen. The body is then sanded, sealed, waxed and polished to its final finish. Assembly is completed by using pre-made high quality pen components for long lasting performance.

The wood for the pens was is collected as logs by myself. Cut to planks it was then then stored in a controlled environment too season for over four years. Now it is ready to be cut to a suitable size to make pens from.
