Laburnum pen
High quality handmade wooden fountain pen pen handmade in stabilised Laburnum rootball. The pen features titanium gold plated fittings highlights which perfectly compliment this stunning piece of wood.
This is a beautiful handmade pen, the comfortable shape in the hand is complemented by the wonderful natural feel and warmth of the wood with a traditional wax finish. The pen photographed is the pen you will receive.
The wood featured in this pen is taken from the rootball of a Laburnum tree. The wood is stabilised by soaking under vacuum to impregnate the wood with the resin. This was done as the wood had some very soft areas.
Featuring a medium nib, the pen measures approximately 130mm long and 15mm at the widest part. The pen is postable to allow the cap to be mounted on the end while in use.
The pen accepts small 'International' ink cartridges (one included), or a refillable ink convertor also included. It will be shipped in the environmentally friendly card case as pictured. A small slip will be sent with the item giving details of the wood.
All pens are handmade by me beginning with rough cut woods for the body. The body of the pen is turned on a lathe to the final shape as seen on each pen. The body is then sanded, sealed, waxed and polished to its final finish. Assembly is completed by using pre-made high quality pen components for long lasting performance.
