Hurricane Mk1 propeller ballpoint pen
Quality handmade wooden ballpoint twist pen handmade with wood removed from a second world war Hurricane propeller blade. The pen has antique copper coloured fittings.
P3536 was a MK1 Hurricane flying with 17 Squadron. The plane was shot down during the later stages of the Battle of Britain while on routine patrol of Chatham on 13th October 1940. Flown by Pilot officer Jack Ross 79163 who made a full recovery in Gravesend hospital.
This is a beautiful handmade quality pen, the comfortable shape in the hand is complemented by the wonderful natural feel and warmth of the wood with a traditional wax finish. The pen makes use of standard Parker® type refills. It will be shipped in black card presentation box as shown. Please note each pen will vary as no two pieces of wood are quite the same.
All pens are handmade by me beginning with rough cut woods for the body. The body of the pen is turned on a lathe to the final shape as seen on each pen. The body is then sanded, sealed, waxed and polished to its final finish. Assembly is completed by using pre-made high quality pen components for long lasting performance.
