Handmade rollerball pen in Oak from Saltram House in Plymouth.
This is a beautiful handmade quality fountain pen. The comfortable shape in the hand is complemented by the wonderful natural feel and warmth of the wood with a traditional wax finish.

This handmade rollerball pen is made from Oak wood with gun metal coloured metal fittings. Each pen will be different than the one pictured as no two pieces of wood are quite the same.

Features a quality black rollerball refill and is approximately 130mm long and 15mm at the widest part including the cap. The pen is postable, to allow the cap to be mounted on the end while in use.

The pen accepts standard Rollerball refills for which a wide range are available. It will be shipped in the fully recyclable presentation box pictured. Also included will be a small certificate giving details of the wood.

Saltram was home to the Parker family from 1743, when an earlier mansion was remodelled to reflect the family’s increasingly prominent position. It's magnificently decorated, with original contents including Chinese wallpapers and an exceptional collection of paintings (several by Sir Joshua Reynolds). It also has a superb country house library and Robert Adam’s Neo-classical Saloon.

All pens are handmade by me beginning with rough cut woods for the body. The body of the pen is turned on a lathe to the final shape as seen on each pen. The body is then sanded, sealed, waxed and polished to its final finish. Assembly is completed by using pre-made high quality pen components for long lasting performance.

The wood for the pens from Saltram House is collected as logs by us from the property. Cut to planks then stored in a controlled environment to season for at least twelve months. It is then cut again to a suitable size to make pens from.
