Powderham Castle
Quality handmade wooden fountain pen in Lacewood. The pen features Gold coloured fittings which perfectly compliment the wood. It is supplied with a medium size 5 nib installed.
Please note, each pen will vary slightly as no two pieces of wood are quite the same.
This is a beautiful handmade quality pen, the comfortable shape in the hand is complemented by the wonderful natural feel and warmth of the wood with a traditional wax finish.
The wood featured in this pen is Lacewood. The wood was grown at Powderham Castle, Devon. Powderham Castle is a Grade one listed, fortified manor house. It lies within the parish and former Manor of Powderham. Situated around six miles from Exeter near the village of Kenton. The Castle is still the home of the Current Earl of Devon.
The pen accepts standard international type cartridges(one included) which are widely available. It also comes with an ink convertor to allow the use of bottled ink. It will be shipped in the case pictured, along with a small certificate giving details of the wood.
The pen is approximately 130mm long and 15mm at the widest part of the cap.
All pens are handmade by me beginning with rough cut woods for the body. The body of the pen is turned on a lathe to the final shape as seen on each pen. The body is then sanded, sealed, waxed and polished to its final finish. Assembly is completed by using pre-made high quality pen components for long lasting performance.
