Lacewood mechanical pencil
Mechanical pencil handmade in Lacewood from Powderham Castle, Devon. The pencil features gold coloured fittings which perfectly compliment the wood.
This is a beautiful handmade quality pencil, the comfortable shape in the hand is complemented by the wonderful natural feel and warmth of the wood with a traditional wax finish.
Each pencil will vary from the one pictured as no two pieces of wood are quite the same.
The wood featured in this pen is Lacewood. The wood was grown at Powderham Castle.
Powderham Castle is a Grade one listed, fortified manor house. It lies within the parish and former Manor of Powderham. Situated around six miles from Exeter near the village of Kenton. The Castle is still the home of the Current Earl of Devon.
The pencil accepts 0.7mm leads type refills which are widely available. It will be shipped in the case pictured, along with a small certificate giving details of the wood.
All pens are handmade by me beginning with rough cut woods for the body. The body of the pen is turned on a lathe to the final shape as seen on each pen. The body is then sanded, sealed, waxed and polished to its final finish. Assembly is completed by using pre-made high quality pen components for long lasting performance.
