Lignum vitae ballpoint pen
Quality wooden ballpoint twist pen handmade in genuine lignum vitae. The pen features gunmetal coloured fittings which perfectly contrast with the wood.
Lignum Vitae is regarded by most to be both the heaviest and hardest wood in the world. Its durability in submerged or ground-contact applications is also exceptional. Lignum Vitae has been used for propeller shaft bearings on ships, and its natural oils provide self-lubrication that gives the wood excellent wear resistance.
The pen accepts standard parker® type refills which are widely available. It will be shipped in the recyclable card case pictured.
All pens are handmade by me beginning with rough cut woods for the body. The body of the pen is turned on a lathe to the final shape as seen on each pen. The body is then sanded, sealed, waxed and polished to its final finish. Assembly is completed by using pre-made high quality pen components for long lasting performance.
