Fountain pen hand crafted in Sweet Chestnut from Buckland Abbey Dartmoor
Quality handmade wooden closed end fountain pen, handmade in Sweet Chestnut from Buckland Abbey Dartmoor. The pen features Chrome coloured fittings which perfectly compliment the wood.
This is a beautiful hand crafted quality pen, the comfortable shape in the hand is complemented by the wonderful natural feel and warmth of the wood.
The wood featured in this pen is Chestnut from Buckland Abbey Dartmoor. The wood was seasoned for many years in an old barn at Buckland Abbey.
All the wood was grown at the family home of Sir Francis Drake, Buckland Abbey. Drake lived there on and off for 14 years and the estate remained in the Drake family for several generations.
The pen accepts standard international type ink cartridges which are widely available. It is also supplied with an ink convertor to allow the sue of bottled ink. It will be shipped in the case pictured, along with a small certificate giving details of the wood. The pen is around 140mm long capped and 15mm at the widest point.
All pens are handmade by me beginning with rough cut woods for the body. The body of the pen is turned on a lathe to the final shape as seen on each pen. The body is then sanded, sealed, waxed and polished to its final finish. Assembly is completed by using pre-made high quality pen components for long lasting performance.
