HMS Britannia Teak pen

Stunning ballpoint click pen handmade in Teak from HMS Britannia, former training ship moored at Dartmouth from 1869 until towed away and broken up in 1916. The pen is made using British made Stainless steel fittings complemented by a precision German made click mechanisum.

This is a beautiful quality pen. The comfortable shape in the hand is complemented by the wonderful natural feel and warmth of the wood with a traditional wax finish.

The wood to make the pen was obtained from a book stand made originally when the ship was broken up in 1916. A lot of the wood from broken ships was used to make souvenirs. I have so far seen Ink wells Desk pen stands, tables and book cases made with the wood from HMS Britannia and also a number of other ships broken around the same time.

The pen accepts small standard Parker® style refills allowing maximum choice of ink types. A quality Schmidt P900 M refill in black ink is fitted for you.

The Parker® style refills I stock can be found here.

The pen will be shipped in the recyclable card case as pictured. Along with a certificate of authenticity giving details of the wood.

All pens are handmade by me beginning with rough cut woods for the body. The body of the pen is turned on a lathe to the final shape as seen on each pen. The body is then sanded, sealed, waxed and polished to its final finish. Assembly is completed by using pre-made high quality pen components for long lasting performance.
